Technically, the Mercury is a Ford van isn't it?

That is one of the things I am curious about- how many miles people have on their vans. Trying to get an idea of what to expect from my Econoline. Not trying to highjack.. has anyone done a post asking that? (Searched but did not find anything)

Guessing there is always going to be someone with 400-500k (or better), but what is a realistic average lifespan? I would guess 200-250k on the original motor / tranny is possible.. although I have seen some with a new tranny at under 100k. Vehicles used to tow or carry too much weight tax their drivetrain pretty heavily. Many here carry a lot of weight, but are also more likely to maintain their vehicles. Seeing what the majority of the people here actually do is more useful info than a theoretical maximum..

CarringB runs his v10 dually E350 Beast of a van ragged. He's got upwards of 500k and I'm almost certain he only keeps up with routine maintenance. He also tows heavy consistently.
I'm sure if he can do that to his van and still not want to get rid of it because it still runs so well, his words not mine, then I better at least get 500k for my mall crawler.

Awesome Rob. I knew you had a super high mileage one once. Wasn't that a 7.3l?
