Came out really nice. I bet folks would want to know some more details about your 4x4 conversion. Independent using GM 4x4 drivetrain parts?

Putting the four wheel drive to good use!

Looking good Jeremy. Did some disperesed camping just this weekend. Was sure glad we had your rock sliders getting to this lake! Im now a proud member of the mountain pin striping club (every used 4x4 should have a few).

What I had thought was reindeer feet was actually Santa skipping this off my roof.
No longer vanless.
My first ever Chevrolet product. Did I spell that right?

Nice job. FYI for anyone else, Safari Condo vans out of Canada sells this sort of thing already made for a few hundred Canadian $$.

Congratulations. Its spelled “Chevy” haha!

The Chevy van is a very solid vehicle. Far better (IMHO), than what Ford or Sprinter currently has to offer (mechanically speaking).

I'm sure it will end up being a good thing.

I like the "Chevy's" vertical ribs; almost like wallstuds. Easy to insulate, prewire, and hang wall covering.

It's also my first van with twin barn doors on the side. I don't really leave the doors open, ( bugs and critters - just my hang up ), so a stealthy click/clack vs the swoooosh/clang of a slider will help the night time tree waterings.

It's silver. 5.3L, non-AFM, 3.42 axle. Ex Govt vehicle with 50k on the odo. Federal emissions, registered in Cali. It's all good.

I'm more of a pavement pounder. The A-arm front suspension will be welcomed.
I'm ok with the 1500 series. It has enough payload capacity for my needs. has good towing ability.

And it's silver.

I went through 26 Carfax reports. Looked at the local CL and semi-local Cl ads for a couple weeks.

Tires, shocks and a battery are first . I will tackle the gutter mount dilemma for an awning soon enough. Going to add at a pass side swivel. Inside will be simple and somewhat modular so I can still haul plywood and whatnot.
blah, blah.

Thats cool. I dig my passenger side swival seat base. Makes a big difference. Dig my Aluminess roof rack as well (awesome for mounting the awning). But keeping your van the way it is makes for a great stealth camper too.

Nice score. There are some easy ways to lift the ifs and add slightly bigger tires if you want to go that route. The engine and transmission along with ride quality should make chewing up a lot of miles pretty easy.
