Regis - congrats on the Express!
I saw you inquiring about the seat swivel - I'd say it is one of the best mods you can make. As far as I know, however, nobody makes a good out of the box swivel for the express. The swivel plates that bolt on to your pedestal end up raising your seat height up about 1.5". If you are short, or your passenger is short, this isn't a big deal. For me it was a deal breaker so I ended up going a different route. Another member here (and on Expo) has cut down his existing pedestal before adding the swivel plate to retain the factory seat height. Also note that the pivot point on the swivel plate should sit inboard of center such that when the seat swivels it swings about 1"-2" toward the center of the van so there is no interference with the door. My swivel plates that I originally ordered were built with the pivot point in the wrong location and were not going to work without modification.

This is the swival i used. Worked just fine. chevy van seat bases, driver, swivel seat bases

Part#111615

There is a hole in the middle of this seat swivel should your van seats have airbags inside them and you need to run the wires through the swival. This does require cutting the wires, running them through the swival and then soldiering them back together and protecting each wire with heat shrink tube.

Whelp. Now that I'm retired from the first career, perhaps I shall start another.
Hmmm.
Proper user friendly dr and pass seat swivels along with gutter mount awning clamps.

That would be really cool. I’m in the R&D phase of designing and fabricating a seat base that allows for a swival seat with no added seat height. The new base would also have a lockable storage compartment. The swivel would mount to this newly redesigned base, and the seat would sit on top the swivel.

Be cool to also have a wire harnes that would allow for the easy reconnecting of the airbags without having to cut and re-solder. The biggest hurdle would be the legal ramifications of modifying a safety component.

Just browsed thru 13 pages. Lots of good examples out there.
I'm noticing a few had Fiamma awning or equal. My guess if the SMB brackets?
Kinda wish it wasn't a perm installation. Or is it

The Aluminess roof rack solved my awning mounting dilemma. But with a roof rack, one could also just use a tarp. -I had the roof rack and awning installed at Aluminess.

Nice set up.

I have Thule cross bars and feet that I'm sure will fit the van. I may try this for a bit with having them spaced a bit further apart than the length of the awning and fab a hangar to mount the awning inboard a bit.

I have nothing but time.

Looking good! Any idea what sort of power you're going after? You going to run a truck tune on it or something a little more...custom?
