I have a great body guy who does all the work for van specialties. We are on it. He said the drip rails hide a ton. The spilt was a surprise I did not expect.
Well it’s all buttoned up. I’ll take some more shots of the patch as well. Ended up with rock guard and then paint over that. In a month after cure I’m putting on the clear sticker protection. Overall a really good repair to a really bad situation. The drip rail has rusted all the way through as well. Stan my body guy said this a common fail from the porous filler used by Ford.
As soon as you posted your issue, I went right out to check mine again (it's been a habit to check my drip rail about 2 or 3 times a year - a result of previous posts going back several years now - just for peace of mind). You must be happy with the outcome - looks great.
