Re: Rear tube bumper WTD

Corners look a little better after the modification.

I doubt the skid plate would have a noticeable affect on the aerodynamics and handling at highway speed. At 120 mph maybe, but you'd probably have bigger problems in a 15 pax van at that speed. Have you seen the downforce figures for modern track cars like the 911 and ZO6? They don't make any real significant downforce until over 120mph.

Re: Rear tube bumper WTD

Excellent fab work, and a great recommendation for your services. For metal geeks those weld beads are like brushstrokes. Ummm.

Don't wanna be mean, but since so many add-ons to vans are cobbled up prefab stuff designed for trucks and whatnot there really is no reason not to have someone do some custom work like this instead. In my experience, and not knowing pricing down in Santee, it usually is about the same price consideration installation and the fact you often have to do mods anyway. And the results are so much nicer.

You gonna paint or powder coat that? I almost think bare metal with a clear coat would look great, but I may be in the minority there. Black would look pretty mean.

I think you should change those tubes to bend towards and weld to the top bar, similar to the way you did the front..

Otherwise, looks cool.
