Re: Replacing Bench Seats with Captain chairs

I have a driver's side swivel seat base for sale. It came from discountvans.com. It's fabricated to bolt on a ford factory front seat to the seat base. I can send you some pics if you are interested.

did you use the factory seat belt on the front or the seats??
I designed and fabricated mounts to put the seats in the front. None of the aftermarket swivels would work so I made my own.

I removed the Toyota seat belts and fit the Ford pre-tensioners to the seat to retain the factory belts from the van.

I wrote up a pretty detailed summary of the seats on Expedition Portal a while back to try to answer all of the basic questions about the seats. If you want any more details let me know.

Mgmetalworks. Set up looks awesome. Just curious if you have a write up or instructions on how you mounted the Sienna seats in the back. Do you have any pictures of how they are mounted on the bottom of the van. What types of bolts and plates were used or are they welded on? I am looking at replacing the bench seat with two captains chairs. I am looking at the brackets from U joint and I know that I am going to have to drill some additional holes through the floor. How do these attach to the floor and what am I looking to drill into? Just through the floor or into a cross beam or frame. Any help would be appreciated.
