Seat interchange

Greetings. Hopefully this is the proper forum.

Regarding the fourth gen, '92 - '14, econoline, will all stock front seats swap within this era?

Sub question is, Does anyone know of off brands or aftermarket seats that have the same bolt mounting pattern.

I tried the search on here as well as some minor googling.., but

I have an '05 and put '14 front seats in. The bolt pattern is the same, but the power seat plug is different. I just cut one of the plugs off and used spade connectors to connect the wires.

Thanks for the reply. I'm starting to look for options for our '98.

I think most of the econoline seats from the base up, are the same bolt pattern. The earlier bases, like my 96, have a slightly different bolt pattern where the base meets the floor (I'm not sure where the cutoff is).

I just did a low budget seat swap for my van last summer. I picked up a passenger side base from Ray (1Der on the forum) and a new set of leather 'take outs' from a Honda Odessey van, middle passenger seats, from a couple guys that are always at the Goodguys show swap meets in Pleasanton ($300/pr I think). But the Japanese seat tracks are a different width than Ford, and I had to do a fair amount of fabricating (cut, grind, drill and weld to fit, paint to match) to make them look and work like factory. They turned out nice, but it took me 8hrs per side.

The seats I took out, are aftermarket van conversion seats w/armrests, the type you see in 1990's motorhomes and conversion vans, blue crushed velvet. Those tracks adapted pretty well to the Ford bases.
The seats I took out are available in exchange for a 6 pack of beer

I'll be diving into this matter when the swivel bases arrive. My stock seats are still fine with the drivers side fabric starting to wear out. I'll be bending an eye to see if the pyro actuator is part of the seat or the base at that time also.

The pyro actuator is screwed to the seat. I think it's a torx, but unbolts easily; it has a screw hole and a tab that goes into a slot to keep it oriented correctly.

Do you have any photos of the plugs and which colour wires go where?

I'm about to do the same, putting '14 power seats in my '02. The wires on the base of the '14 seats are simple enough but the power wires from my '02 are MIA. At one point the converter bundled up a mess of unused plugs and stuffed them in the B-pillar. I'm just trying to figure out which plug out of the 6 or so various shapes belong to the power seats.
