Source for factory service manuals

Have been looking for a factory service manual for my 89 Ford E150 and found one at Rock Auto. Had the choice of either a paper copy or PDF version on CD. Got the CD for a great price. The CD is put out by Bishko, http://www.autobooksbishko.com/index.html. Bishko appears to have an agreement with the auto makers to republish the factory service manual for the general public. The CD is searchable and nicely indexed. Was able to find the section on window regulators easily. Now just need to take the door apart to fix it.

Re: Source for factory service manuals

Hi,

Bishko also puts out parts manuals in CD form. Very helpful for finding a part number without having to annoy the kid at the dealership parts counter.

Highly recommended for those of us working on older junk (projects dear, projects!).

Regards,

Gavin

Re: Source for factory service manuals

For printed manuals eBay is by far the go-to place----anytime I see a good deal I post a link here for those who might be in the market.

Older manuals are available mostly in printed-only versions, some in questionable condition; others are in great shape but classified as "collectible" and carry a hefty price too. If something is available on a searchable CD-ROM that's the way to go.

The price in the link is very fair IMHO----a great alternative.

Before you buy from the Bishko site check Rock Auto. I paid way less than the Bishko price at RA.
