steering stabilizer for a 1988 Ford E250 SMB ?

Looking for a steering stabilizer for a 1988 Ford E250, all I found was this Monroe steering stabilizer kit for vehicles with out OE steering stabilizers. Second part on this link:

http://www.autopartsdeal.com/catalog/?N ... 4294953938

Any suggestions on making this purchase or a different steering stabilizer kit?

Thank you

A year later I saw this post....Check this link out. I did the conversion (and got several friends to do it as well) and it was very beneficial, especially in offroad bumpy stuff. The ford (stock ambulance) brackets are the trick.

A little clean up and paint and it's ready to be installed.

Thanks...
Repairing the shock was easy. I just waived my credit card at the this little machine at the auto parts store and it was done!

This was a very worthwhile modification. No more wandering at highway speeds. Before the van did not want to keep a straight line always wandered back and forth. Now I can take my hands off the wheel and she tracks perfect.

I mounted an F-350 steering damper like that on my van. Couldn't tell that it did anything - for sure it did not dampen Death Wobble.

Re: steering stabilizer for a 1988 Ford E250 SMB ?

Saw this thread and gave it a try - Have that same 'highway wander' and needing two hands on the wheel. Today installed a Monroe Steering Damper/Stabilizer, (# SA1930), on 1989 Econoline E-250 SMB.
Made a HUGE difference - dosen't wander anymore, and now can use only a couple fingers to keep in line.
(And on a long straight stretch - no hands for a little bit too.)

Attached a couple "before an' after" pics of the van over the past year, and how stabilizer is mounted.

THX for the Thread!
Cheers!
