Tires... 285 / 265's???

So I am going to order up some GoodYear DuraTrac's, supposed to be an excellent winter tire. Mostly road running, some off pavement but mostly going for looks.

Truck is '11 E-150. Has a 2.25" Body Lift to accommodate wheelchair lift and floor drop. Been reading most guy's run up to a 265/75/16 with no lift at all so wondering if I can squeeze a 285/75/16 in there with my "lift"?

Also considering, but not immediately doing the MOOG CC880's up front and rear spings rebuilt to get another 1-1.5" height.

What you guy's thinkin I should choose, 265/285's?

I don't know if the 285s will fit. I have a 4" lift from weldtec and 265's are pretty close to perfect. 285's wouldnt fit on mine. They may fit in the wheel well, but they will likely rub at full lock.

I agree. 265s and Duratracs are great tires.

This ended up being about a 6” lift with 265s

That does look about perfect.

I guess I'd expect mine to look pretty close after 1.5" Coils/Leafs.

I could have done 285s with the 6” kit but that thing is huge and top heavy as it is. Plus, I didn’t want to want to re-gear it.

I run 285s on a 2.5" lift. The only time I get a little bit of rubbing is when I air down off road and go to full lock. Other than that, especially just driving on the highway, I haven't had any issues. When I had the lift and tires put on (Agile Off road) I think they did some mod to my stock front bumper to make the tires clear which was basically just notching out the bottom corners.

Couldn't one good picture of the fit, but attached a couple that hopefully gives you an idea of what it looks like.
