Hensley hitch for towing

I am buying a 2010 EB 350 Ford Van V10 6.8 gas Quigley 4x4 , with SMB modifications for hunting with bird dogs.
I am concerned about trailer sway. When I have towed before this was a problem. I did have Quigley do a rear sway bar, but I was looking for some help with the trailer. I have seen Pullrite and Hensley. I am leaning towards Hensley for some technical reasons with my conversion.
Does anyone have any experience with Hensley, and could you relate them to me? Thanks!

Try this link. Airstream forums has more information than you will want, but you can always stop reading when your eyes get bleary.

Re: Hensley hitch for towing

A properly setup trailer should not ever sway under normal conditions. So... make sure the tendency is not there before you install a fancy hitch.

I did have a Hensly, but it broke. My trailer was too heavy. I upgraded (downgraded?) to a Reese Dual Cam and was just as happy with that. In some situations, I liked it better, because there is no "Hensley Bump". But bottom line is it was stronger. The Hensley was not up to the task of my 41' 18,000 pound Weekend Warrior. It actually ripped apart at the welds. But the folks at Hensley had no problem refunding my purchase, even though I had reduced the hitch to a pile of scrap.

Another hitch similar to the Hensley is the ProPride 3P. It is the latest version of Jim Hensley's design and has some updates vs the "Hensley" brand hitch.

Thanks for the info. I did see the PP hitch and I am getting some more info on it. These hitches are not cheep. I do think that they are worth it to me.

I use a Hensley hitch behind my PDS Ford e350 XLT to tow a 10,000 # race car trailer. I would not be without it. Hitching up is always a challenge but otherwise its fantastic. Used it for 10 yesr now.

Vlamgat, I'm assuming you can't find the water bucket to sit in to cool that thing down?
