Re: SUBARU BRAT! "AM I NUTS"

OK bought a 1983 Brat GL and will pick it up on Sunday, its not as clean as the others but for $900.00 its a steal! There is one on eBay right now that's a rust bucket that's at 2,500.00 already with a day left, figured that the 3k saved will go a long way towards the restoration, the passenger door has some bumps but there is no rust, needs a front bumper, the undercarriage is 95% rust free, it has the original 1.8 and 4 speed tranny that runs and shifts strong, factory 4wd hi/low not to mention some factory wheels that I have been told by members of USMB that are a rare find.

The only real rust problem thats an easy fix

The interior is all there

Also glad to save this rig from rotting away.
Buck

Re: SUBARU BRAT! "AM I NUTS"

Congratulations. It looks real clean on the inside. It must have fairly low miles because the peddle area looks new.

Re: SUBARU BRAT!

Nice find. I've got a set of EA71 pistons that will fit the 1800 to up your compression ratio and make it a screamer

And take off that Hitachi carb and put a webber on it. That's gonna be a fun project.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty impressed that the Brat could carry that slide-in camper in the first pic!

Really cool Buck. I can't wait to see what you do with it. Great find. Just for fun I looked around in my area yesterday. I found ONE and it was nearly destroyed.

This one on a scale from 1-10 is an 8, clean inside and out the seller contacted me on Monday a day after I drove the 83 home and offered it to me for what I had offered but since I was no longer in the market..:???: I picked it up for 700.00 less!! Re: SUBARU BRAT!

Hide that one from your dad, that one looks a lot nicer.
