Probably the same as all of the other gasoline vans regardless of engine. Probably the same from 1997 to current year. Not hard to find in a yard and probably almost free with a little getting dirty climbing under a van.

Russ, what's your symptom? Just curious, I haven't heard of very many if any of these going bad. Not on Ford vans anyway.

Hey Eric -- there's a somewhat "gassy" smell when I open the 60/40 doors after filling the tank and driving for awhile. NO over filling or kick back from filling gas. The smell "appears" after the van sets awhile parked in driveway. Garage tech found some "wet" on top of gas tank (46 gal TranferFlow - original to 2002 build). Upon dropping the tank - they replaced the top tank seal - and discovered one of the gas lines had some corrosion on the coupling - so both couplings replaced. Smell still there. So after discussion - "I" felt that maybe somehow the EVAP cannister may be "full" or that's all I could think might be the source of the smell ?? -- So new EVAP cann just arrived today - sourced from EBay seller - "hoping" its the right one !? THANKS to Twoxentrix for the research and source seller !

You got any other ideas Eric ?

All other fuel sources inspected - nothing found - by the way - related to previous response to 86Scotty - I didn't "open the 60/40 doors after filling and driving awhile." I haven't practiced that lately - LOL !

No, I have no ideas to add. You're probably on the right track if it's been dropped and the shopped fixed all other obvious problems. I had similar problems with my 95 SMB with an oversize tank. Never figured it out while I owned it. Good luck!

I have this vague memory that the charcoal canister vents out by the fuel filler depending on the year. A line goes forward from the canister along the frame rail. Not sure if this could relate to the described smell.....
