Wow! This is pretty close to my perfect rig. It's a little older and a few more miles than I'd prefer, but when buying used, I've learned I gotta bend a little. Some questions for the peanut gallery:

How difficult would it be to add another battery and solar?
What's the lifespan of a 5.4 motor? Like, how much more can I expect out of this van?
Anything in the photos stick out? There were no photos of the underbody. Can you tell much by a pic of the underside or do you need to actually crawl around down there to see corrosion?
Anything stick out about the van good or bad?

Thanks,

BC

And one 4D is plenty adequate! That's a big battery!
Back when I had a VW Eurovan, I never filled the water tank and just used a 5 gallon water jug for everything. So, this setup is perfect for me.

What would my options be for heat since there's no propane tank?

MrBuddy portable heater is a popular option.

Unless you plan to use a lot of 12v power, you shouldn't need another battery. The 4D battery has 200-210 amp hours. Solar isn't complicated, installing a 200W Renogy kit is a weekend job.

Ask for pictures, nothing wrong with that. But looks like a CA van, so probably fine.

It looks clean, and simple. Not many extras, but that also means not many extras to break!

Portable Buddy heater would work, or you could install Espar or propane or whatever.

This is the most glowing part of the million mile van 5.4 saga: "I used Valvoline 10W-40 motor oil and change it every 10,000 to 20,000 miles. The longest I’ve went between oil changes is 55,000 miles."

That is amazing, especially from the same company that made the 6.0l

OK, sorry, couldn't resist, back to the OP's for sale ad.

That took all of one day.

I didn't even get a chance get in an offer. Maybe I'll just get a slide in.
