Slider=no door galley as well as the fender flair clearance issue (which has been addressed by several folks here including MG)

...also......how much is a 5.4L crate motor?

Depends widely on what/where you get it.. But total replacement with a decent rebuilt engine would be over $5k I reckon.

Totally understand the door galley.

I have a question, does everyone on here really like the fender flares or are they more out of necessity (because the tires stick out further than the body)?

As far as the engine, ask MG.

Necessity? No. But they do prevent a lot of mud from flying all over - even if your wheels don't extend beyond stock fenders, the mud still flies!

Ha ha ya, I've learned that. Pretty sure I'm gonna re line the lower portion of the body with a some sort of bed liner. And mine don't extend past the body.

I like the look of the flairs.......although $400 for four pieces of thermoformed plastic is......well....a good business to be in apparently.

I just bought a 1997 E350 with a head gasket leak for $4500. It didn't have a kitchen build out but it does have a SMB popup.

The head gasket and AC is being repaired for $2700.

The guy repairing it was a Ford Fleet mechanic for 15 years working on heavy duty trucks and vans. He gave it a good rating otherwise.

$3-5 for a remanufactured motor is what I found a few years back when I was considering a project.

Long Block reman from Rock Auto is under $1600 (plus core) with a 3 year warranty.
