2017 Sportsmobile on a Ford Transit T350

2017 Sportsmobile Texas conversion with Penthouse on a 2017 Ford Transit, non-smokers, no pets. $82.500, serious inquiries only. Located in the Black Forest northeast of Colorado Springs, CO.

This is our 3rd Sportsmobile (’72 VW, ’78 Dodge Maxi-van) and we love it, but we’re getting to the age where van camping is a bit more than we are comfortable with.

 T350 EB (extended body), silver
 148” wheelbase
 EcoBoost 3.5 twin turbo
 16 – 19 mpg highway depending on wind
 6-speed automatic
 Rear-wheel drive
 57,xxx miles, serviced per Ford schedule, records available
 Heavy duty tow package – 7000 lbs capable
 Wired for trailer brake controller (Tekonsha Prodigy, not included)
 Wired for backup camera on trailer
 Daytime running lights added
 Dash camera installed
 Driver and passenger seats are power and heated, passenger seat swivels (van battery is under driver’s seat, can’t swivel)
 AM/FM/CD “entertainment center”
 Factory windows all around (360 degree view)
 Running boards for driver, passenger and sliding door
 Custom insulated shades for driver and passenger windows, windshield
 Excellent condition inside and out (Non-smokers, no pets)

SMB conversion:
 Custom built to our design
 Penthouse top painted to match van (silver)
 Seats 7 with seat belts
 Sleeps 4
o Dinette makes into a bed for 2 (sleeping sideways across the van) 5’6” guy fits comfortably
o Bed platform in Penthouse top is longer, sleeps 2 adults comfortably
 Cherry color cabinets
 Grey carpet and vinyl
 Tundra (speckled gray & white) color Corian counters
 Closet with storage below
 Two storage cabinets with hinged Corian tops and swinging doors
 Microwave cabinet with Corian counter and swing-up extension.
 Small storage space behind microwave
 Large open storage space below microwave (first used for DC cooler, now just plastic drawers)
 Magnum Energy MS2000 watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter/charger
 2 – 92 amp hour AGM house batteries
 2 - 100 watt solar panels flush mounted on Penthouse top (no mounting holes, just flange for wiring)
 Low wall Porta-Potti/shower enclosure with removable sink, Corian shower base with drain. Split Corian counter top covers all
 10 gallon fresh water tank with pump
 10 gallon grey water tank
 Jump seat with large pull-out storage drawer below
 Custom built 12 volt DC cooler cabinet with drawer above, Corian counter top and swing-up counter on side for outside use
 SMB cloth curtains replaced with cordless cellular shades (except back doors)
 Large dining table with moveable base for use inside or out

There is not an on-board generator but the solar and batteries provide sufficient power for microwave, water pump, lights, hair dryer, electric kettle for heating water (replacing the AGM batteries with lithium would vastly improve the power availability and be smaller and lighter). We also have a one-burner butane stove but have rarely needed it. No furnace but if we anticipated needing an electric heater we carried our Honda 2000i generator (not included) in a cargo tray. Otherwise we just got a campsite with power.

To shower, you’ll need a sunshower and shower curtain. They can hang up or we found a foot pump sun shower at REI that sits on the floor. We tested it in our trailer shower and two adults could shower with one tank. Usually we shower in park facilities or in our trailer if towing it.

You can get a tent that attaches to the van over the sliding door. The version we have is by Kampa from Camping World UK and provides a lot of extra room. The Kampa allows you to drive the van away without taking the tent down. They offer free shipping and ours took about 5 days for delivery from the UK.

Ours is not included but here’s a link to view and purchase:

If you are serious about this van we can offer the opportunity for a test drive and to camp at our property for a night or two to try it out. $50 to demonstrate and set up, applied to the purchase price if you buy.

For serious inquiries, we are willing to arrange a Facetime or Skype video conversation and tour of the van where we can answer your questions and show the van in more detail.

I think interior pics would really help, especially since you mentioned a custom design. Great van though, love the 3.5 EcoBoost.
