2018 Pro Master 2500/ what do you think?

Found this tonight. I am seriously thinking of purchasing outright but was hoping for some thoughts from anyone who knows Pro Masters. I have always shied away as I am kind of a big ass van kind of guy. But with as much traveling as I am doing my TATANKA, 2006 4x4 E350 has just been killing me in diesel costs. Anyway I met this woman who very unfortunately was diagnosed with some serious health issues and has to sell her van life rig before ever finishing the build. She is the original owner and bought it at the dealership in Oct 2018. She is asking for a payoff on her loan. Let me know what you think. Also the major expense for me would be converting it to 4x4.

These are front wheel drive with a transverse mounted motor so a 4wd conversion would likely be extremely expensive if it's even possible.

Thank you. Can it be lifted to accommodate higher clearance and larger wheels? Or would you consider that wasted money.

Ya, there’s not a 4X4 kit available for these that I’ve heard of. While your intentions are noble in wanting to help out your friend, I don’t think that the Promaster will deliver on what you might want/need.
Is that spray foam insulation? No going back from that, I’d make sure it didn’t deform the sheet metal and makes it difficult to add or run any electrical for future upgrades.

Well 4x4 is sort of a big deal. I do a lot of dispersed camping. I researched this morning and it looks like Fiat Ducato in France does it but yeah fat chance I am going to France. Thanks for the replies. Probably will have to put this idea in the bag.

Yes way to low. I am not well versed in these newer styles of vehicles everyone seems to be using for van builds. Did not realize that rear axle situation until researching this morning. I would shred that up quickly.
But still wondering, with the low miles and extended warranty is this a great price or about average?

Pretty easy to figure that out. What’s the going rate for a similarly spec’d new Promaster? Several websites offer “true pricing” for what they are selling for in relation to MSRP. Add in the extended warranty cost and then see how it compares to the asking price of this one. I wouldn’t really pay much additional for the insulation or roof fan.
