The plate itself can be changed (purchased from Aluminess) if not the correct one for your wheel spec. You can mount the spare only if it is the correct plate for your wheel lug pattern. (Threads are different between the two lug specs, as well)

Stock E Series wheel lug pattern were 8x6.5in lug pattern (except for some E150’s ??). The 4x4 conversions can be 8x6.5 or 8x170mm depending on which conversion company and what year the conversion was done.

1der... I'm learning something just from selling a take-off part!

This van has the Sportsmobile 4x4 system installed The conversion would have been done in 2004 as the van was delivered in ~Aug 2004. Does that narrow it down? Or is it stamped somewhere on the carrier?

I've contacted Aluminess about the spacer plate. If they happen to have the one they took off my truck, I will get that back first, then ship it all out together. If they don't have the one that came off my truck, I will see how much it is to get a new one to include with the carrier.

I'm away from home for Christmas for a few days. Shoot me a zip code for shipping estimates and/or text me a phone number. Then I will get an estimate for packing and shipping so you know.

Thanks!!

No worries SS!!

Sometimes there is a stamp on the plate like in the pic below, or it could be stamped on one of the edges of the plate. I do not recall ever seeing it on the back side of the plate, but it could be there. Or it might not be anywhere which I have seen in a few cases.

Measurements CL to CL for lug studs for a 8 x 6.5” are:
The plate is an isosceles triangle
Long 6”
Short 4 5/8”

I do not have 8x170mm plate to measure but the measurements will be a bit longer to accommodate the 5mm (.2”) larger diameter pattern.

The 8x6.5 plate has a 9/16-18 stud thread.

I do not remember what lug spec SMB used for their conversions. It may be listed in your SMB Owner’s binder on the build sheet as to what wheel/tire set up was called out.

You can also use washers if you don't have the spacer plate for the bumper. I'm pretty sure thats what I did when I bought mine used.

If you could send me a quote with shipping to Blaine, WA 98230 that would great.

Please note that I am out of the country for most of Jan so my replies will be limited. If I don't get back to you right away, feel free to sell it someone else. Also, any idea how much this thing weighs?

Give someone local a chance to grab it before shipping. There are lots of van peeps here but few active posters. Probably sell in an hour on craigslist

I checked yesterday. It's stamped with 8x6.5 on the lug plate.
