SOLD:Aluminess Spare Tire Carrier - Orange County, CA

For Sale - Aluminess spare tire carrier, currently set up for 8 on 170 wheel pattern (F Series). Aluminess sells an E Series adaptor if that is what you need.

Carrier is in good condition and complete, with the exception of the bolt that replaces the factory hinge pin. Aluminess sells the hardware separately or you can likely pick something up at the local hardware store.

These are $850 and tax at Aluminess, I'm asking $675.

Sorry, but I'm NOT willing to ship at this time. Available for pick up in Huntington Beach.

Just curious, was it spray painted gloss black over the matte black powdercoat?

I appreciate the offer, but I'm not ready to let it go that cheap, thanks anyway.

I purchased new from Aluminess and that's how it came. It might look more glossy because it's wet, but it hasn't been painted.

Do these hold up long term? I would like one but i cant feature them holding up a 50 pound tire and wheel combination long term on bumpy roads without stress cracking. There isnt anything there other than a single tube supporting the entire load?

I will let you know if I end up in Central CA, probably will happen at some point this summer, but nothing scheduled at the moment.

There have been some recent threads on how to make them last long term. The upright tube gets connected to the door hinge and it is also connected at the latch. Aluminess also offers a "Swing Arm Rest" https://www.aluminess.com/accessorie...r-accessories/ that supports the weight of the tire while closed.

I'm planning on going to a dual swing out setup, so I no longer needs this carrier.
