ALUMINESS TIRE CARRIER - for a FORD with stock bumper

I upgraded to an Aluminess rear bumper a while back so I'm selling the tire carrier that went with the stock bumper.
This is coming off a 2006 Ford and the lug pattern is for a 8X6.5" wheel. Not sure when they changed to the bigger wheels (think it was 2008) so this should work on any van from then, back to 1992. I had 315 / 75 R16 tires on this carrier.

Some of you may be aware that Aluminess did not have the best pivots on these swing arms back then, lets face it, they sucked. A stainless steel bolt through two 1/2" thick aluminum plates and a 1/4" nylon washer between them. This ate away at the aluminum rather quickly and elongated the holes.

To fix this problem I machined 2 sets of custom bronze bearings, drilled out the existing holes in the aluminum and pressed the bronze bearings in. Then I used a SS shoulder bolt as a pivot. This set up requires very little maintenance, just a little oil once or twice a year. I used this swing arm for 8 years and never had to adjust or mess with it in any way. After my mod I was very happy with it.

This is what a new one goes for Aluminess Tire Carrier - Ford

Asking $ 300. I live in the Los Angeles area for local pick-up.

I also have a custom Hi-Lift Jack mount that won't work on my new swing arm so if your interested in that let me know.

You can see more pics of these mods in progress on my album on pages 7 & 8. Sportsmobile Forum - jwintersteller's Album: Jwintersteller

PM me.

Cheers,
John

I'll pack it up if you pay for the shipping.

It will weigh about 30LBs and the box will be around 12" X 36" X 36".

If you have a currier you prefer, figure out what this may cost and if you're willing to pay it, let me know.

Hey all,
Thanks for your interest in this.
As of now I have a buyer.
If that falls through (unlikely) I will go down the list as it came in, stating with "hogasm" (if he is still interested)

I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again,
John

PS Thanks "boy wonder" for verifying the year of the bolt pattern change
