Best rear hitch receiver for e350

Anyone have recommendations on the best bolt on rear tow hitch receiver for my 2013 e350? I’ve got some bigger Nittos on there and am worried the bolt on won’t fit around the full size spare.

Not really interested in getting rear tire mount swing arm just yet. But for those who have one... Aluminess is what I would get. Any thoughts on if it’s worth it or a hassle?

I recently installed this class 3 for use with a 500 lbs motorcycle carrier. You did not state the applications (25' trailer or a bike rack?).
You can look at the trailer website and see pictures of several installations of everything they sell. What exactly is the cutoff for an oversize tire I'm not sure. I'm planning on a 265/70-17 or 31.6 " . Worst case I will put an undersized tire down there. I'm still carrying my original factory spare never been mounted.

I would get this if you plan on towing a large trailer. Both would seem to have similar size constraints for a large tire.

I will also comment that I bought a Draw-tite rear hitch and a Curt Front hitch (based on price). Both had similar "apparent" build quality but the Draw-tite has better mounting hardware (specifically required spacers). On the Curt I had to fabricate spacer plates to avoid bending the frame mounts.

I have one much like posplayer's second link, where the crossbar is straight across..and a 285/70-17 won't fit.


The ones with kinked/bent crossbars like his first link above will likely fit slightly larger tires although I'm not sure how large.....

I have one that angles out, I believe it's a Curt, and it allows me to fit a full size spare, 265 70 17. I don't think you could fit much larger under there.

PM forum member NCModella. He has one of those with a angled crossbar that fits larger tires. He will be upgrading to the DrawTite one soon so his should be available for sale. He has to upgrade because is hitch weight is too high for the angled one. The DrawTite has the highest rating, but the crossbar does prevent carrying a spare taller than 235 or 265.

Just be careful your spare doesn't get too close to your exhaust.

Yeah I’ve got a spare 265 70 17. Do you know which model you have? Or class III or IV?

Curt seems to be the way to go. Install sounds like it’s truly bolt on, no drilling. Drawtite had a few reviews complaining of fit.
