Upgrade

This van remains for sale.

Meanwhile, I am upgrading the original Norcold reefer (which is good by the way) with a Dometic CRX-65. It's even more energy efficient. Has anyone installed one of these? I'm trying to find the flush mount installation kit for sale in this country. So far, the best I can find is in England....

If only

This is a dream van for me because I am looking for something to work out of full time and off road occasionally, but no boulder climbing. I won't have that kind of cash until I retire in 10 years though. I do not suppose there are any financing options for these?

My recommendation would be to approach a credit union. My experience has been they are far more likely to think slightly out of the box. I had it professionally appraised a year or two ago, prior to several large (RIP kit, etc.) upgrades, and they came up with a figure just shy of $60,000. I borrowed a bit of money based on that - with no problem at all.

The plumbing is done

Moving this back to current. Plumbing is finished. Reefer is upgraded. Removed the shore power water heater since we never used it (but can throw it in). Extra space was more important. Have also performed some "durability maintenance" (adding reinforcement to auxiliary fuel tank).

Running like a Swiss watch. A big, rather loud, Swiss watch. Probably have more on it than listed (I forget stuff) so ask if you're wondering.

This is my favorite feature. Very nice.

The “upstairs” has room for two people to sleep. I currently use sleeping bags and roll-up camping mattresses although padded “shelves” are included. I have installed a custom, opening skylight/hatch that was designed to be a foredeck hatch on a yacht; waterproof and ½” Plexiglas. You can walk and sit on it. The roof itself has non-skid paint on it.
