Free Denver boot

.. cleaning up my garage .. Denver boot, no lock (It fell out of the sky.) Absolutely free. Too big, too heavy to ship so local pick up only. I'm located in Cupertino, CA. Thanks.

A Denver boot is that contraption the parking authorities clamp onto your vehicle's tire/wheel when you don't pay your parking tickets. You can clamp it on your vehicle on your driveway when your garage is already full of other more expensive cars. It makes it a little more difficult to steal when you're not at home.

I had to Google it since I haven't seen one of these since I was a kid visiting Chicago or some other abominous metropolis. Here's one:

Re: Free Denver boot

Ray,

I'd like to look at the Denver Boot as a way to secure my trailer when I leave it in a campground.

That's a really good idea. Most locks for a trailer are just a chain or cable through the wheel, but remove the wheel and the trailer is fairly easy to steal, usually with the spare trailer tire that's conveniently mounted on the trailer.

Re: Free Denver boot

That's a great idea, securing a trailer. The boot is mostly aluminum and doesn't weigh very much. There is a 1 in spike built into it that you should probably grind off should you accidentally/intentionally drive off with it. You won't get far because you'll still have the boot on and the tire will be flat.

Mike, come on by the house tonite, I'll be home.

Re: Free Denver boot

Ray,

You're welcome!

And just so you (and anyone else reading this) you can edit your first post listing this item and change the title to include SOLD. That can save time for the next forum user who might think thry want to take it off your hands.
