FS: 2006 SMB Penthouse EB31 6.0 Super Clean 2WD

Here’s great opportunity to create awesome memories as the new owner of a one owner, super clean, well-equipped, rust-free, Sportsmobile 2wd rig with penthouse / pop-top; ready to go for amazing adventures!

I’m pretty confident the first people who see this rig will buy it.
Rig is located in San Francisco, easy access to the airport. Fly in, check it out and drive it home for the summer.

Here are all the specs (hopefully I didn’t forget anything!). Please PM with any questions.
Thanks for looking!

Most of the mileage was from use as a daily driver. Buy it, convert it to 4x4 and add many more all brand new goodies and be invested for less than a comparable 2006 4 WD.

If you want any Aluminess products, I can arrange to get those.

Looks like a great, clean rig at a good price. Throw in 4x4 for <$20K, maybe some Aluminess as you mention, and this would be a great rig still at a great price.

Or, just leave it as-is and enjoy cross country roadtrips with money to spare. GLWS.

Beautiful rig!
I've forwarded this listing to a good friend who's in the hunt.

Gotta ask, though:
Being the 6.0....the elephant in the room.....and with 159k miles....can you offer any more details of your perception/assessment of the engine's maintenance history/most likely state of internals? Mostly curious because there's no notes of "bulletproofing" or aftermarket oil coolers/filters.

Despite its reputation, it sounds like the 6.0 can be a great motor if its oil/filter maintenance is religious (and to the letter of Ford specs.) Wondered if there's any way to check/verify clean oil passages and oil cooler efficiency on a used rig? There are indeed high-mileage 6.0's out there still going strong to rival the 7.3's.

GLWS!

Mike - great questions. This rig was covered under factory warranties until January this year. All the maintenance was done at mostly Ford dealers or to Ford Spec. Additionally, it was a daily driver for most of its life in between family trips. I think this regular use and dealer maintenance (oil and coolant changes) is a very big positive.

This 6.0 runs really well. It starts easily when cold or hot, smooth steady idle, turbo spools freely, and runs smoothly. No bubbling in the coolant recovery tank, no oil leaks. Throttle response and acceleration are excellent. A scan showed no codes.

Re: bulletproofing ideas - I have done lots of reading about the 6.0 and realize it may be something a buyer might consider. It runs so well I would be torn about changing anything and would likely continue with strict maintenance intervals.

I have no concerns about it going to a reputable diesel mechanic for an evaluation. Thxs!
