They are absolutely great chairs. Great company too.
I bought one USED on Craigslist and a plastic hinge broke a few months later. I contacted GCI and they told me to prove I was scrapping the chair by slicing the canvas in half, top and bottom, and send them a pic, then they would ship me a new chair. They did and I did not even have to prove original purchase, which of course I couldn't anyway.

Yes Excellent chairs...similar experience for me.....bought one at REI garage sale and hinge castings failed. Contacted GCI .....they requested that I field destroy the chair by cutting the seat and back fabric in two then sent a new replacement..bag and all.
