Iso/wtb: 2005+ v10 e350

Good evening,

Location: central California coast.

Looking for a weekend toy / tow rig for the family. I'm in the market for a Ford 2005+ V10 E350 RB, 2WD is fine. The newer the vintage and lower the mileage, the better. I'm willing to pay a premium for a really clean, well-maintained/kept example. However, if you have a sub-2004 model year, I’ll definitely take a look and consider it.

Searching for the following:
-Chateau package, or similar-style seating (need seats for at least five) and the quad captains chairs of the Chateau/Traveller/XLT-Premium trims would be a plus.
-Clean undercarriage, free of corrosion beyond normal superficial surface rust.
-Well-maintained van that hasn't been abused.
-Not interested in black or dark blue van - any other color would be preferred.

The following would sweeten the deal:
-4x4 conversion U-Joint or Quigley; but a clean 2WD is my primary target.
-tasteful modifications like Aluminess kit, or an OBA setup would be a plus as well.
-Slider door, but this is just a want.

***please shoot me a PM if you have something along these lines.

Thank you,

-Steve

Your preference for a slider door should help in your search. A majority of folks want the side barn doors for converting to a camper. I had a slider in a Transit and didn't mind it at all.

I would caution you against dark blue as well. It is a pretty color but it is hot.

Yes, my thought as well. The slider offers a lot of utility for loading and unloading kids and I understand the issue it introduces with larger/wider tires.

Good idea regarding dark blue; updated my post to reflect.

Sliders - in addition to tire clearance which can be addressed with an extended slider bar, if off-road travel is in the mix, sliders become problematic due to dust /dirt in the tracks and the misalignment of the door due to flexing.

Next on the list is the fore/aft off level issues of opening and/or closing the heavy slider which has to be all the way open or closed to be latched. Loss of utility of the door as a storage volume, is a con.

And of course our Stay Put Bug Screens only work on Barn Doors

In the beginning we thought the Slider was going to be the more desirable side entrance. Our first van (many vans ago) had a slider. Only Barn Doors since then.

I was going to list my van for sale had a dealer not pull the rug from under me on a 2016 Chevy Express with a 6.6 duramax. If you can find me a passenger van with a 6.6 duramax, we can talk. I'm on the central coast too!

@mikracer check your PM inbox. I have a lead on a local unit that matches your specs.

There's a 2012, extended, 118k miles, with a 20" high top in UT for sale (although looks like it could be a 24"), has a weldtec lift on it. Cargo van though. $26k.

Thank you for the lead.

And thank you to everyone who has reached out thus far. To anyone who may have a 2005+ V10 that they are considering parting with, please shoot me a PM.

I’ll consider an EB as well. What’s really important is that I find a 05+ V10 that is in good shape.

Bringing this to the top ahead of the weekend. I appreciate the outreach so far via this thread and PMs.

After checking out a couple conversions, I would also consider a clean V10 SMB (2WD is okay) that has seating for five, or could be easily modified to accommodate that requirement.
