Looking for 2013 5.4 van or v10.

Looking for van as daily driver and would like to make it 4x4 eventually.
Almost any color other than white is better.
No rust on body or on underside.

I had another post looking for a 7.3 but that might be to much and costy down the road.

I think some conversions are are easier to move over to 4x4?
I'm not 100% sure but would like something that would be easier to switch over.

White not to preferred but can be doable. But I probablyly should have mentioned stock because I don't have the money to buy one already setup.

I want it as a daily once in a while driver that I can take off road if I wanted and have fun and also pull a trailer if I ended to.

OP - have you mentioned a budget anywhere? How much are you looking to spend?

Also, where did you get the information that the 2013 model year specifically is the best year to convert to 4x4?

This forum is a great resource to learn about SMBs and E-series vans in general, but you will need to do your part in searching through the existing threads to see if any of your questions have been answered before. And if you do post a new thread, it is helpful to post as much detail as you can, so that others can help you most effectively.

Sorry I'm new to the 4x4 and I'll try to add more info in my posts.
Some videos on YouTube where saying if you convert certain vans to 4x4 if they're after a certain year you wouldn't half to replace everything when converting over.
I think maybe less than 20k since I'm looking for a stock vehicle.

You should be able to find a stock van under $20k easily. Especially a 5.4. Set up a search on cars.com or autotrader.com and you'll have plenty of candidates popping up.

Browse the 4x4 section of this forum for all the info you want on the various conversions available.

Maybe the ease of 4x4 conversion you're thinking of is due to the different transmissions that different vans came with. 2005+ vans with the V10 have the 5R110W, which is the easiest to convert to 4wd as you can simply bolt on a transfer case to the transmission. The 4R100 or 4R75 or whatever (4-speeds) require you to replace the output shaft and/or bolt on an adapter like Quigley (?) does. I'm not an expert, just regurgitating what info I have found on this forum and other resources.

I also believe that the 2008+ vans come with RSC which might make things more challenging? Different wheelspeed and ABS sensors that are tricky to get to play well together. But once again, not an expert.
