DID YOU JUST SEE THE POST 8 above you!?! The "Silver Streak" is for sale....a Forum Member is JUST letting filks know their Rig is for sale!!! Talk about LUCK!!! Longtime SMB owner/Member, Rig has been well taken care of with some awesome extras, TWO YEARS YOUNGER than you were looking for, really fair price (to me), seems like this could be it if you "act fast now and call the number on your screen!" I hope it all works out if not with this one...another one...GOOD LUCK!

Sportsmobile Forum - Glider's Album: The Silver Streak is For Sale! Is the link they offered...hit the "search" button and put that in if the post isn't there when you checknext...an PS I don't know that member, but love the rig and know how they go fast!

I think the dude is pretty serious since he has done lots of research and homework-

“but I'm aiming for 2004 and less because you can import anything in Canada when it's been 15 years.”

So, while Gilder’s Silver Streak is a most choice example of a walkthrough SMB w with QuadVan’s very nice solid axle 4x4, the OP would have to wait two more years before bringing into Canada since it is a 2006. (Begs the question if manuf date or model year is the determine date)

I don't know anything about importing vehicles into Canada, but the Silver Streak is registered as an E350 van, not as an RV, if that makes a difference.

The RVIA sticker from SMB would help qualify it as RV, if needed.

I believe it does, SMB did not apply to register themselves as a vehicle manufacturer to Transport Canada. They are not listed as a registered manufacturer for Class B or Van Conversions so my understanding is the 15 year rule must apply.

Another factor is Transport Canada typically does not allow import of a 4x4 conversion on a "used" vehicle. It had be done when the vehicle was "new". I am not sure how the 15 year import rule would apply to a vehicle like this, if it is importable afterwards or just not at all.

I'm not an expert at any of this stuff, it's just what I found while I was researching to bring one in from the US.

After 15 years old or more there are no more rules. You have to read things carefully to figure it out.

www.riv.ca

Make sure you clear it with US Customs and file the right export paperwork 72 hours in advance.

Thanks for that clarification! This will help if we ever decide switch to an extended body.

There are three 4x4 Vans I've found for sale in Canada right now (All BC). In my opinion they are all priced high:

2005 FORD E-450 SUPER DUTY AMBULANCE DUALLY 4 WHEEL DRIVE
https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...013424655.html

2006 Ford E350 4x4 - $32900

4x4 E250 Ford Sportsmobile - $85000
