Re: Matching Solid Surface Cutting boards

Info on where to find solid surface countertop material:

I've made solid surface countertops on both my van and sailboat. I found that most countertop fabricators have a scrap pile with small pieces left over from previous jobs, and these small pieces are often big enough for a small job like a van. They'll sell these scraps for cheap, or even give them to you if you ask nicely (a 6-pack will help). If you're really trying to save money you can also go dumpster diving on the weekend :-)

Solid surface material is incredibly easy to work with. It can be cut, routed, and sanded with normal woodworking tools.
