Waldo road was a bit washboarded, but still good. I must not have rallied it hard enough, as I only saved about 15 minutes: 1:30 there via the gravel vs. 1:45 home via crescent cutoff to 97.
You have to go at least 45mph to float over the washboards. Pretty exciting in a big van!

It would be nice if the seller would comment on the gas mileage.

But I have to counter Scotty's post about the mpg's with the 6.0.

May be the difference in mpg Scotty sees is due to the extra running gear of the 4wd conversion?

But, I have a 2004 Chevy platform 22 foot B+ van (obviously not a SMB) that has a GVW of 8,600 lbs, has a high roof and wide body, and I still can get up to 13 mpg with my 6.0 at highway speeds. I drove all over the west in it this past summer, putting 4,750 miles on it and averaged for the whole trip 13.63 mpg. (BTW, I am looking to sell this and or trade it for an SMB 4wd)

The Chevy van is a good choice because of the longer wheelbase (less vehicle butt bouncing on bad roads) and from my experience the Chevy 6.0 big v-8 beats the crap out of the big ford gasser, mpg-wise!

Gbail, I don't want to hijack this thread but my experience with the 6.0 was with a crew cab 4wd truck. I've never had a van with the 6.0. I made that statement based on my experience and everything else I've read on forums about the 6.0.
That said, I'm not knocking it. I absolutely loved that truck and the power of the 6.0. I would love to have a Chevy extended van with that engine.
If you get 13 plus with your van that is great! My 5.4 doesn't get much better most of the time and is no where near as strong.
