Me want... and this helps me to run up my post count. TT Eric tonight and read the stories of the build project. Very nice but I am a bit leery of the evil diesel. I have some reading up to do.

I completely understand, we just finished a five day, four night camping trip up north with the family. It definitely got tight. We may be going your direction, I just am not a fan of trailering anything.

Could you post a pic if possible of the bench in position?

Good luck.

Someone is going to get one very well set-up van!!! Load it up and go out on expedition.
It is a tough decision for sure. My oldest does not want me to sell and we are the ones that get out the most together. I want to make sure we take more full family trips and to do that successfully I think we need a little more space at this point.

You are on your second van already and seem to be in the market for a third aren't you?

Hey Eric. Can you post up a view looking in the back doors but not too zoomed in. Need to see the overall lay for things like MOTO gear and hiking or skiing gear and how that would fit.

The 7.3 is not the evil diesel, its the 6.0 that the van owners have a love/hate/paycheck giving relationship with. Joking aside you might start a separate post asking about the reliability of the 7.3. That is the reason I sought the older van, so I could get the 7.3 over the 6.0 diesel and then put a modern interior in. That is also why I would only trade for a V10, because the 7.3s were not offered in the vans after 2003 I believe (correct me if I am wrong) and I don't really want to get into a 6.0.

You are correct sir......but many, including eddyturn, may view all diesels as "evil", regardless of displacement or perceived reliability. Indeed, eddyturn, you've got some reading up to do......
