6.0 diesel maintenance and repair history
What you NEED to know about the Ford 6.0 is the the engine is not half as bad as some would make it out to be. But it’s not super great either. If you are absolutely meticulous with maintenance and use Quality parts and fluids the engine is rather great! Since I bought he van I’ve only used Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 with motorcraft oil filters every 5K. I’ve replaced both the fuel filters every other service. First thing I did when I got the van was a complete service of all fluids transmission, power steering, coolant, and differential.

Replaced High pressure oil pump (Ford motorcraft)
Replaced High pressure oil regulator (Ford motorcraft)
