Looks like a solid build and a unique and well done interior. I don't think you could go wrong. Motivated seller too.

If it was me I would want to know who did the Ujoint install. There is a recent thread on here regarding just that topic.

Went to see this van. Very clean and nice. Didn't quite fit our needs, so decided to pass this one up. I'm guessing someone will grab this up quickly.

does anybody have any opinions on how the 5.4L in a van like this can handle a bit of towing? I occasionally pull a 4500lb trailer and have only been looking at V10s to this point.

The 5.4 will do the job and the v10 will do it better. If you know you’re going to tow regularly, I’d go v10 unless you live somewhere very flat.

Thanks Grampswrx

Buddy, in your original post you mention a trailer hitch with brake controller. Have you done much towing with this rig? If so, what kind of weight?

I have done some towing with it but most of it has been on the lighter side. !7' Boston Whaler, Two Seadoos and a flat bed trailer with two motorcycles and a Quad. No issues with any of these things. I have a buddy who has the same van same motor (no 4x4) and he tows a fully loaded 23' toyhauler out to the desert almost every weekend says hes never had any issues and can tow at 70 MPH all day long. Ford states its tow capacity is 6300lbs so 4500lbs should be no problem. Hope this helps

I towed a 4600 lb trailer up until this year and I live in a mountainous area. I never had any trouble pulling it but I’m also laid back when towing. Went to Yellowstone with the setup and wasn’t the fastest up the hills but it’s really steep in Montana, so... We’re talking going 45-50 uphill instead of 80mph on the flats.

Depends on your speed needs and expectations. But I personally wouldn’t hold out for a V10 (and get that lower gas mileage daily) just to pull a trailer faster.

I now tow a 3000lb boat and you wouldn’t even know it’s back there.

Thank you all for your insight.

Buddy, if you haven’t sold your rig by the time I get back home to LA, I’ll come check it out

Here is a GREAT back up started CdMguy!

https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/...046037109.html

This is the best alternative to any 5.4 or 4.6! It may have the Allison trans as well! This is a minimum $6k upgrade!
