I wonder if the "no air conditioning" refers to factory vehicle A/C or an aftermarket R/V type unit?

Sorry for the confusion. The no A/C refers to the rooftop A/C above the rear bed, not the Sprinter HVAC system. Winnebago offers the rooftop A/C as an option, or a Maxaair fan instead. I chose the fan when I bought it.

IIRC most rooftop AC units use the same size hole as roof fan, so adding one would be easy for a buyer if desired.

I believe that's true, and I think the area is pre-wired for easy A/C installation.
