SOLD: Econoline XLT w/ Sportsmobile top 2006- sleeps 5, drives 7

Econoline XLT E-150 Chateau with Sportsmobile top
  • Sportsmobile fold-down bench / bed with extension. Bed is at least 6 ft long and is ~57 inches wide. I'm 6'1 and I have plenty of room, as does wife.
  • Sleeps our family of five. (3 kids upstairs in the penthouse, ages 9, 8, and 5). With the middle row removed, one sometimes sleeps on floor.
  • Removable captain chairs in middle row. We frequently take one out when camping.
  • Previous owner did the conversion, and we sought out this model to maximize the seating capacity & room while driving and minimize cabinets, and things that can break, etc.
  • Seatbelts for 7. Have driven 8 people relatively comfortably (4 kids across on the bench).
  • Other features:
  • back-up camera.
  • Bluetooth stereo
  • Scan gauge
  • Rear A/c, blows very cold. I added a tube that directs the airflow forward. Looks McGuyver-ish, but effective.
  • Aftermarket carpet and pad over the stock carpet (easy on knees), cut to cover mounts for removable captains.
  • Husky front floor liners
  • Custom roll-down and snap-in curtains, complete set
  • Curtain separating cab on custom track
  • Including 2 remote clickers to unlock (must use these- I've always used, but discovered after 2 yrs that ignition had been re-keyed (pre-dates previous owner as well)).
  • Swivel passenger seat
  • Was wired to have a house battery under the bench. I removed, but wiring remains.
  • Custom Interior LED spotlights and separate indirect lighting.
  • 2-inch receiver
  • Full size spare
  • Paint is in good shape-- it's been garage kept for my total ownership (four years). Undercarriage looks typical for the year.
  • 187k miles
  • Runs and drives solid, V8 going strong. We set the cruise at 80/85 (where legal) on the highway.
  • We get 15 mpg consistently (better than my Tahoe)
  • Clean Texas title in hand.
  • Posting here to find a good home prior to dealing w/ ebay & CL.
  • Reason for selling. We love this thing, and wanted to keep it till retirement (20yrs away?), but I found a off-road spot locally where I need 4-wheel drive, and am building a 4x4 van.
  • Bonus: custom shore-power air conditioner set-up. Enables year-round camping, even in 110 degree heat. I'm a little embarrassed to show you my set-up, but it works. PM me for pics / more-info.

Asking $20k.

With pop-top conversion running $12-16k before tax (and backed-up), I'm hoping someone will look at this as an inexpensive way to enjoy some camping now.

Available in the Dallas area for inspection / viewing. email t-e-x-n-y-c without dashes at gmail. Calling is prob most efficient or video walk through. nine one 7 eight oh 5 - six three two three.

There is a removable console pictured that I will include. Just wanted to be clear that wasn't permanent. (it's actually removed-- I prefer it open).

Survey says 5.4l, can't be a 4.6l if cruise on 80/85 has ever worked for more than a few seconds.

I think those are half ton Ford wheels only so I don't see it being a V10.

My VIN pulls up the 4.6L V8. I just went outside to look at the engine block, but forgot it ain't easy to see. I'd assume that's it.

As for Scotty's comment, he's prob normally right-- my only explanation is that remember it should be quite a bit lighter than the full SMB rigs people are running.

PM'ing you two the VIN.

Under the hood. This is a couple of years ago. I've since removed the battery isolator.

Hey Scuba, here's a trick for you on Ford vans. There is a white plate above your right headlight, left side of this pic. It's sometimes hard to see but those plates usually give the liter displacement of the van. Somewhere on there you'll see 4.6l The only thing is it's kind of hard to find until you get used to seeing those and you also have to know the common sizes for these motors so you can pick it out. Common sizes for E-series are 4.6, 5.4, 6.0, 6.8, 7.3 There is also a 4.2 V6 (I think?) but those are really rare, usually just in very basic panel vans probably bought by a fleet.

Ok team, finally listing on ebay, just fwiw. My better half mentioned that if I'm looking for someone to buy a van, maybe I should list it somewhere other than a forum for people who already have vans.

Shore Air conditioner

OK, because someone asked, here is the much celebrated shore power air conditioner. Let me know any questions. At the time, I wasn't aware of any alternative-- I couldn't find anyone to put this in the rear window / door like you see on some work vans.

No modifications to the van itself, besides unscrewing the decorative top of the lock plunger.

There are a lot of us looking for vans, many with very specific requirements. But she is right. Ebay, BAT, Expo would all be great places to post. Ebay will just mean even an enthusiast will pay more as they typically take 10% or more.
