Re: Sportsmobile for Sale THIS WEEK ONLY!!!
My 2 cents .. the price sold is what the market will bear. IMHO and no offense, $8K is not realistic at all. The van is nicely equipped (including awning, running boards and aftermarket rims) and from the picts looks like its well kept. A PH top alone costs around $6500, add $1300 more for the electric lift. And its an EB, more of a hassle to drive around everyday but a joy at the campsite because of the extra room.
There are some out there who don't care about 4x4 (Quigley, SMB, Salem, UJoint, etc) nor will they care about diesel or a V10 or Aluminess. For the small family out there or a couple this could suffice nicely.
My father-in-law has an 2000 E250 with the '50' plan and PH top. He's retired and has taken it all over the western US. He wasn't interested in 4x4 nor diesel nor V10.
As already mentioned and discussed on this forum and elsewhere the 5.4 and 6.8 triton motors (if well kept and not abused) will last quite a long time. 143K is nothing to be scared of. Lots and lots of EB E350s are used for airporters and delivery vans and when they eventually end up on CL they have upwards of 300K or more. If a major repair/swap becomes necessary then 5.4s, 4R75s/4R100s and D60s are plentiful, your checkbook will be your guide. Small parts and interior bits can often be had at the local Pick-n-Pulls because Ford has only been making this body style since 1992.
Yahboo, good luck on your search. ultimatealabama, good luck on your sale.
