Stay tuned... a Sienna seat mount resurgence is upon us. I have redesigned some aspects of the bases to make them easier to manufacture (the functionality is equivalent to the previous generation design) and I just sent a new batch of parts to the powdercoater.

This isn't the thread to make the full announcement but look for something from us soon about a whole host of seating products/solutions for E-series, Transit, Sprinter and more.

Can't wait to see what's in the mgmetalworks seat option pipeline!

On a semi-related note:
In newer vans, there's a pressure sensor in the seats that turns the airbag on/off (depending on whether or not anyone is sitting in the seat.)

Will switching to a different brand of seat from original (i.e., putting a Toyota Sienna seat into a 2006 Ford Econoline) cause a permanent "airbag fault" code to be set and dash light to be lit? Curious what the strategy/solution to that detail would be.

The E-series has only the seat belt pre-tensioner, which is retained in all of our seat options. There are instructions for the fitment included.

Gotcha! Great and thanks for the clarification. I assumed that the wires that ran from each seat were linked to pressure sensors (like most modern cars have), wasn't aware that they were instead connected to a belt pretensioner circuit.

Good info.
