The audacity of it..

An RV dealer in Fresno is advertising a "loaded" used SMB for $130K. I called to ask if the price was a typo. He said "It cost almost that much new".

I'm not understanding these SMB prices!

I thought mine was going to be loaded, w/ 2 solar panels, extra battery, custom plan, 4x4, shower, penthouse top, furnace, AC, etc...

And mine only came to about $75k.

Don't forget to add the:

PS Diesel ($6000)
SMB 4x4 ($16000)
Espar Appliances ($5000)
Air Lockers, Trojan Bumpers, Etc.
And the list goes on!

Guess we got off lucky. Our "pre-owned several times" SMB cost about what the down payment would be on that $130k job. But then it's not a 4x4 and its accessories are kinda dated (TV with built-in VCR? Where do you stick the DVD's?), plus the only way to get on top is to climb a tree and jump. Kinda like when my dad and I traded a first-model Harley Sportster, many years ago, for an MG-TD. We told folks the (then) odd-looking and unknown Brit sports car was worth $10,000 (a LOT of money then) because that was what we decided the bike was worth...

Used SMB Fully Loaded: $85K
SMB Conversion: $22K
4x4 Conversion: $16K
Diesel Engine: $6K
Aluminess Bumpers: $3K

That seems to add up. By the way, mine is for sale for $125,000. I'll even deliver it.

He must be having trouble with the concept of "USED". It is used, not a rare classic. If the RV dealers are as slow as the RV dealers in Reno I am sure that price is very negotiable. ocvl

He can ask whatever he wants. But, he hasn't sold it for that price.

I would sell mine for less than Jage will - $100K including the rare (and no longer available SMB off-road trailer).

I'd consider letting mine go for $99k. The fabeled 7.3 is got to be worth at least half the asking price. I'll even toss in the near new aluminum "side ladder" I have (I got it at Wal-Hell and I set it up on the ground, but to the side of the van, so its a "portable side ladder" which is so much cooler than those stantionary side ladders).
