Time to clean out a few things that are just taking up space

Time to get rid of a few things that aren't doing me any good, but may for others.

Custom swing arm for Aluminess rear bumper. This is for the passenger side. I had Aluminess build this for me in 2006 and I've gotten a lot of use out of it. It got a bit bent once when I backed into a tree, but managed to straighten it out for functionality and have used it several years since then. I've taken a different approach and no longer need the custom swing arm or original tire carrier swing arm. The tire carrier swing arm will need a tire mounting plate (could make or just get from Aluminess) in order to actually mount a tire, or press out the old studs that I cut off way back when and just press new ones in.

I paid $300 for the custom swing arm originally (that was a great deal). There's also three fork mount bike trays. Not sure what a new tire swing arm goes for.

In use.

Approximate center to Center pivot distance measured from bottom pivot is 13-1/4" to center pivot and 26-1/8" to top pivot. Aluminess has welded a center pivot onto the bumper at the time they made the custom swing arm.

Tire (driver side) swing arm:

Two faux bead lock rings from 16" Mickey Thompson Classic Lock rims. I pretty much destroyed the other three and threw them out, but these two are still in reasonable condition. If anyone wants these, you can just have them. I have all the bolts to attach them.

If you are interested in any of these, just make me an offer and we'll go from there.

Thanks,
Phil

I'm interested in the rack contraption.. but I'd want to see it first, and I'm headed up to Crater Lake tomorrow on my old GS.. so I won't be available until next weekend.. If you still have it then, let's meet up somewhere and I can take a look and make an offer..

No takers on any of this yet. Not trying to make a lot of money here, just new home for things I don't need any more.

Any takers?

I had a similar rack built after seeing photos of Phil's. It works great. If you're looking for a clean way to haul 2 or 3 bikes, you really need to take it off his hands.

Bumping to try to clear these things out. Any interest? More interested in getting rid of them than making $'s on them.

That swingaway rack rules. If I had an Aluminess setup I'd be all over it, but I'm afraid that it would sit in MY garage far too long waiting for bumper mods to accept it!

I never had one but always wonder if that kind of bug deflector are efficient. Did you notice a real difference of bug impacts on your windshield ?

I don't really recall. I put it on for my Alaska trip in 2008 and removed it when I did a thorough cleaning after the trip and never re-installed it.
