Trojan Tire Carrier

I’m picking up an SMB with a Trojan tire carrier and I wasn’t sure if it will fit an aluminess bumper. Does anyone have any idea on the compatibility if the two? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Others with direct experience can comment but it is my understanding that they are literally the same thing manufactured at Aluminess.

Most aluminess bumpers include the drivers side swing arm with tire carrier. Are you looking to buy the bumper only from Aluminess?

I am. The van I’m picking up has a Trojan tire carrier and I’m wanting to ad the bumper and box with swing arms. I was hoping to be able to keep the Trojan.

I think you would be better off selling that tire carrier and getting a bumper with both swing arms. You can sell that tire carrier for $600-$700 and put it towards the cost of the full bumper which is $2,750 or net about $2,100.

The bumper without swingarms is $1,750, but to add a passenger swing arm would probably be ~$600+, so $2,350 total.

Call aluminess and ask if your idea will work. I think it’ll be more trouble than the price difference unless you’re an experienced fabricator.
