Vendor Feedback Thread
Got the 411 on an internet vendor (good or bad)? Post it up here.
Amsoil: Ship points located all over the place. Quick shipping (three days from internet order to my door with regular shipping). Downsides are you are not advised of backordered item until you opened the box, very slow to respond to emails if at all, no tech or customer service available on weekends, and sort of feels like a Herbalife or Amway organization with all the garbage they send with your order.
4Wheeling Plus: Ordered a set of Warn hubs from them due to the fact they are close (WA). Price and shipping reasonable. Downside is they didn't ship the order for four days (evening) and then they shipped it out of California. Seven days and counting and the hubs still haven't left California. E-mails finally answered and apologies given. Shipping refunded without asking. Problem addressed quickly (that's good customer service). Best to call in your order if you need it fast.
Quadratec: A Jeep-oriented off-road website. However, probably the best Hi Lift price around when considering shipping. Definately recommend (shipped out of PA).
Drive Shaft Superstore: Out of AZ. They carry Spicer U-Joints, etc. Good prices. Not very responsive to e-mails. Again, best to call in your order.
Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts: Located in Ogden, UT. High quality parts and very responsive to e-mails. Prices seem very reasonable.
Fastenal: Web and local shops. If you want it to stay together, then buy good bolts. Good selection and can get not so common items quickly. They don't give anything away, but highly recommend.
Partstrain: Generally sells Asian made knockoff junk. If you call customer service, you're talking to someone in India (although they are very professional). Your SMB deserves better.
A&A Manufacturing: Located in Mid-West. Great selection of high quality tabs and mounts (mild steel and chromoly). Great prices and very fast shipping. Probably not a lot of need for these fab'n parts unless installing double shear upper shock mounts in the rear of your SMB. Thought I'd mention them because you guys are creative.
The Tire Rack: Almost not worth mentioning as it seems everyone already knows about them. Great prices on tires and several wharehouse to ship from. I've had good luck with them. Beware, if you can't mount and balance your tires yourself, you'll likely pay a premium to have a local shop mount them up. When you add shipping, might not pencil out for you.
e-shocks: Great prices on Bilsteins and fast shipping. Responsive to e-mails. Custom valving available at $70 per shock. Bought from them before and will do so again.
Deavers: An icon in the off-road racing and pre-running world. Very responsive to e-mails. Have not ordered from them (yet). Never heard anything negative about them.
Dynatrac It doesn't get much better. Quick e-mail responses. Happy to send you needed parts at the drop of a hat. Now that's what I'm talking about.
Summit Racing Ordered stuff from them for years. Good prices, excellent shipping times and rates. Various shipping points. Found it best to call to place an order so it gets filled a bit quicker. Example: Optima Yellow Top 34/7; $190 + $12(handling); ground shipping included.
Northern Auto Parts Located is Sioux City, IA. Internet and EBay stores. Can phone in your order toll free as well. Name brand engine replacement parts for gobs less than your local parts store. If you have time to wait for your parts to arrive via UPS, then you'll save some serious $. Example: Airtex water pump for 7.3 ltr. $196.92 at Napa; $85.99 + $19 shipping from Northern. Exact same part.
