WANTED 2" wheel spacers

Looking for one set of 2" or 2.5" wheel spacers. Good quality preferably, no ebay spacers.

8x6.5 lug centric

Cheers

2" to 2.5" is quite a bit. Rear spacers to match front track normally are 1.5 to 1.75.
What is creating the need/desire for 2" or greater?

Are you running a full floater rear axle?

I’ve been running a set of aluminum spacers from Fred for years, no issues.

So, if I am reading correctly, the spacers will be for the front wheels to widen the front track? (edit: just saw you have a Weldtec lift, so stock front 2wd axles, and 7.3 which is heavy on front axles) Do you have a weight for your rig for front and back?

I had looked at installing front spacers and was advised against it due to steering scrub angles as well as the changing of leverage on the front wheel bearings. Member carringb runs a dually hopefully he can share his advice here.

What size are you running? I’ve heard nothing but positive things about Fred and his spacers. I’m looking at ordering 2” for my rear end.. 1 3/4” would be ideal to match my front track but will need to trim the studs if under 2”

1der is correct. You generally don’t want to run adapters up front because you’ll induce tire scrub by moving the contact patch outside the kingpin axis (that’s what it’s called even with ball joints).

It might not be too bad if you run high-offset (less backspaced) wheels. If you already have a high backspace wheel, it could become hrs to drive and probably cause some fender rub.

A better way to match the track width is either go solid axle, or do an I-beam bracket relocation to move them more inboard, and swap to staggered radius arms from the Bronco or OBS F150.

Or just leave the wide track rear alone. That’s how my dads van is, and it handles great especially with the added roll stiffness of a rear anti sway bar (it’s an EB.... rear ASB can be too much roll stiffness for an RB van)

Thanks for the replies!

I knew there would definitely be added stress up front. I was comparing it to how some people are using rear spacers on their semi float axles without issue, until it becomes an issue.. but maybe that's not a good comparison.

1der, last I remember I weighed in at 3700 front, with 2 passengers and 5200 rear. Loaded up with gear and all tanks full.

I emailed Fred, he told they would be steel spacers for my application.
