Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage
Looking for a low mileage Ford 4x4 with a 7.3 diesel in it. Doesn't have to be all done up but has to be clean and rust free.
I live in NC but will fly out for the right deal
Thank Ken

Re: Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage
Forgot to add - RB body (standard length but you know that) with penthouse, tow package.
Would consider Newer Ford 5.4L 4x4 with 3.73 limited slip with low mileage/no rust also. Not interested in the 6.0 diesel.
Thanks for looking
Ken

Re: Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage
Thanks, i hadn't seen that one and its not far away from my house.
Falls back to the old question, do i buy new and bite the bullet or do I rebuild on someone elses issue. There are some great deals out there and carfax can only show so much about the history; We all know how to clean things up and swap out parts so they look and sound new for a sale so its always a tough call between new and used. I'm not in a hurry there are alot of Vans out there, someone is always getting rid of there baby for different reasons, divorce, health, cash. My Blazer ZR2 has kicked over 200k time for a new toy; A 4x4 Van would just make camping alot easier.
As a Newbee to this site I have learned alot in the last month reading through the old posts, alot of good information and some great pictures.

Re: Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage
They didn't make the 7.3L past 2003 so if your looking for a new one your looking for 6.0L. Most 7.3's out there I've found are right on the 175k mark, haven't seen one with this low of mileage yet. If I was local I would be all over this van like stink on a boot, if I had the time and cash I would consider flying out to buy it and make a trip out of it getting back, as I've been on the hunt for quite a while now and desperation is starting to sink in. 7.3L regular body with barn doors, is not an easy find. I'm looking to do the same thing, 4x4, pop top, my Subaru Outback has 365k and with having a kiddo, its gonna be too small for camping come spring.

Re: Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage
If you are considering new, you are considering either a gas engine or a Chevy/GMC/Sprinter. No more Ford diesels.

Re: Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage FOUND
bit the bullet and bought new - 2012 e350 5.4 RB 3.73 quigley 4x4 cargo 40/60 with no side windows. fully loaded for a cargo. It will be a great starting point, got a exceptional deal. No kids so not sure i'll do a popup, sticking with the basics, except for a few perks.
I'll see everyone in the woods

Re: Wanted Quigley 4x4 with 7.3 diesel low mileage
Congratulations Ken.
From my point of view, you should do the penthouse popup, even if you do nothing else inside the van.
First, you can sleep up there (my wife and I do) and with all the windows you get great ventilation in the summer heat.
Second, you can stand up in the van. Especially as you age this is very important. So much easier to change clothes or even comb your hair.
Third, we will be able to recognize you as a fellow SMBer, not just another 4x4 van.
