Wanted: RB-50 or 55 type floorplan, 2 or 4wd

we're looking for a clean, RB-50 or 55 type of floorplan, we need to have a forward facing sofa for a child's seat. not super picky on options other than PH, fridge, sink and 12/110v. propane would be nice but not neccessary

Would prefer a E350 4WD but would consider a 2WD version for the right van and price. Prefer something from late 90's or early 2000's and we'd go either diesel or gas, would like to keep the miles under 75k, but again would consider a higher mileage well maintained SMB if the price is right

thanks,
derek

Derek, Contact SMB West Coast on their used listings. There is a 99 still listed that fits your request. I have seen and ridden in it. It isn't worth the asking price in my opinion but the owner may be flexible since the van has been in the listing for months. the owner was a nice fellow. SMB will send you info on contacting him. Good luck, Chris.

Yes it is. It is the 7.3L diesel with about 50,000 miles on it. It ran fine. It has a few cosmetic flaws but did not appear abused. Has some rust but only surface stuff on the undercarriage from being around the beach alot. Paint is good. Interior is slightly worn. The 4wd system is Quigley if I remember correctly. It has a sink and fridge. Front facing SMB bench seat that folds back. Surf board racks(removable) on the driver side rear space aft of the sink. Can't recall about propane but I think it does have a system. Owner bought it new in 99 from SMB West. I just didn't like the noise level from the engine. It is the older(some say best) Ford diesel and it sounds like the Fed EX truck just parked in your bedroom! Asking price is high in my opinion but I didn't like the van enough to get into a discussion with the owner about price. In my opinion after looking at many vans I'd say this one is worth maybe $40,000 at he very most. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give the van a 5. Chris.

still looking,
and am currently leaning towards a 2WD version as I'm thinking a lifted/rear locker 2WD will be the most economical way to go for what I need and where/how I will really use it. besides, if I really need the 4WD drive down the road I could just convert it I suppose.

so if anyone sees/knows about any relatively late model low mileage Diesel or V10 RB E350's w/ a 50/55 type set-up with a PH, please post

Thanks

D

still looking....
again anyone have any leads on a low mileage RB-50 type of floorplan?
Would prefer a diesel (a V10 for the right price would be considered) and right now I'm thinking 2WD (would lift and lock it...) unless a great deal on a 4x4 came up. We would like to stay under 45k, it looks like a bunch of sweet rigs out there in the 60k+ range but they're too much $$ right now w/ jr on the way...

Thanks for the heads up,

D
