Wanted to buy, Sportsmobile RB-50

Hi All,

I'm looking for a Sportsmobile with a RB-50 type layout.

It needs to have drivers and passenger side airbags and seat belts for 4.

Other than that I am flexible with the type of top, drivetrain or accessories.

I live in Denver, CO and I'm willing to travel to view/purchase a vehicle.

Thanks,
Matt

Lucky13,

I'm getting ready to put my 2005 6.0 RB-50 on the market. It has front but not side airbags. I'm in the Black Hills of South Dakota so not a long trip for you to come up and check it out. E-mail me at hlacentipede at Hotmail dot com if you want the details and photos. It has just over 71K miles and I'm going to put it up for $55K.

Updated it a bit since those pics. Linex the top, added Aluminess Box on the back, and a bit of inside comfort. Thanks for posting the picture. I'm going to take some fresh photos this week once I give it a bath. It's been a wet and muddy spring/summer in South Dakota.

Docsavage, what did the Line-x cost you for your top and I assume also the rain rails??

I had a guy tell me locally that he wanted $1100. I'm sure it's b/c of the prep work so I'm going to try and negotiate it down by offering to do the sanding.

We decided to taper the Linex just above the rubber seal rather than mess with the buttons. It cost me just under $800 to have it color matched. I spend a lot of time on the top loading and unloading kayaks. It was less slick when wet when Linex'd. We had those ugly surface cracks that are now filled and the top looks good now. It may be a bit quieter but can't give any scientific data to validate it.

At Sportsmobile it's like $750 to color match, but if you're going to do all the hard work (sanding) you might as well get roll on bedliner and do that part yourself. In any case, $1100 sounds high, I'd shop around.

Hey Doc Savage,

That is one great looking vehicle!

I should have put the price range in my original post, which is 10,000 - 20,000. I can go a bit over this for a great vehicle, but that's pretty much the limit.

One day I would like to have a SMB like that.......
