Back on topic. Claude you've been a good member in standing and I'm glad you have a great sense of humor. Hopefully someone will find you what your after. I understand how difficult it must be to find a van in the USA when you live overseas.

I went through the checkout process. You can buy this $33,000 van in about 3 minutes with $5.00 flat rate shipping using a credit card, but there is not a single obvious place to ask a question.

At the risk of sounding officious (and naive), would it be possible to buy a used EB50 (or another style) and mod it into a 51? I know SMB Texas is very creative and might take on a project like that (if it were possible). Maybe that might broaden the universe of vans that would work. It might be worth a call to Paul @ SMB Texas or another call to Alan. Just thinking out loud.

Good luck with the search, I will keep my eyes out. I'm rooting for you, it sounds like the trip of a lifetime. I've run into a few Euros in Mexico en route to doing the very same odyssey you're contemplating. Living the dream! Maybe I can join the club in another 15-20 years. Webbmac, I also already asked this question to Alan but the answer was : it will be more expensive than a build in an empty van. The most expensive in building an interior is hours of labor, not the fournitures. So, uninstall the complete interior, remove the walls to install better insulation and then reinstall fournitures + change some of those, it's a lot of work which would be more expensive than install a new interior...

Of course I will keep the forum updated of my project and my trip... but before, I've to start it concritely by finding the right van!
