I own a towing Company, and trust me it makes no difference what you do.
If they want your Van they will take it. There is nothing you can do to stop them.
I find this so sad and I wish it wasn't true.

Im not saying you shouldn't use what ever preventive measures you choose. Im just saying.

Im sure I'm stating the obvious.

I hope this never Happens to anyone again.

Ron

Glad to hear they found your rig and that it was intact.

Ron, according to Ravelco, nobody has ever successfully stolen a vehicle with a properly installed and correctly used Ravelco. What are your thoughts about that?

Well, that's the catch with the Ravelco. They may not be able to start your van, but that doesn't mean they can't steal it.

Yup. They can always just tow it away. That's why I added the GPS tracking device (SPOT Trace Product) on top of the Ravelco.

I think that is the catch. A determined thief could always load the van up on a flatbed tow truck. Nothing stealth about an operation like that--especially with a five ton, 20' long van--but with enough time and the right equipment, it could be done. I think the sheer size and mass of our rigs is the primary line of defense against such a heist. Way easier to snag four Miatas than one SMB.

Example,
My guys loaded my van with one of my wheel lift tow trucks from the rear and moved it, just to mess with me. Yes Mine is extended.
It took less than 3 min.
No keys doors locked in 2wd.
You don't need a flatbed that takes longer.

Heres something to think about as well, No one has ever approached me when I am impounding a car. except maybe the owner.

Here are a few ways to make it tougher.
Turn your wheels all the way to one side.
Back in.
Put it in 4wd.
None of these things will stop it but it will slow them down.
Most thieves are cowards and will move on to something else if you make it difficult.
