Wow I am speechless right now. Found a 2002 RB50 in Grand Junction. Tell the guy I'll take it and we decide on a price. Texts me 2 days later and says no deal b/c other buyers offer. I say ok we had a deal but what the hell I'll give you your asking price. He says Ok and we decide to meet tomorrow and firm all the logistics. I get the cash out and get ready to get in my car to pick it up and he says again no deal just sold it for more. Dude's name is Tad from Grand Junction.

That's the one I was referring to.
Apparently it wasn't meant to be. I'm guessing it sold for $37500

Re: WTB: Diesel SMB camper
That is just WRONG! A deal is a deal and you even went the extra step - sorry to hear that.

Yeah I am super bummed.. Bad business!!!!! Wasn't meant to be. Looks like we may be picking up a Syncro Camper this weekend instead. Wife is ecstatic. She loves the Vanagons. I'll update the post if we pull the trigger.
A syncro has a lot going for it. Smaller than an SMB, similar floorplan to a 50. About the same fuel economy. Less threatening than a big ol' SMB 4x4. Not my cup of tea, but some really like them.
