WTB Ford EB 250 2WD; Willing to pay top $

I am looking for a gently used SMB, Ford EB 250, PH. We prefer rear dinette.
Thanks. We may consider RB with rear dinette.

I am amazed as to how few used SMB there are for sale at this time. Is Spring traditionally a better time to look for one or could it be that with gas prices going crazy people are holding on to their SMB instead of trading up?

When I decided to buy mine this summer there was only 1 diesel with the SMB 4x in EB. When I was leaving to pick it up another got listed, but it always seems like there are more 2wds than 4wds, although I haven't been following the used ads. Patence young Paduan...

Found mine used in either AutoTrader.com or Cars.com, I can't remember which. I think the ad had been out les than a week, and when I called on it, the owner's already had a tentative offer on it. Luckily for me, the person who put in an offer decided to lowball the owners after the owners had driven 4 hours to show it to them. The owners called me back, and we had a deal within days.

Bottom line: be prepared to move quick if the right one becomes availalble. We have a Home Equity Line Of Credit (HELOC) that worked out perfectly to make it happen for us.

I got mine in June...after searching for 8+ months.

The sellers were buying a new SMB...at $60,000 new they waited 12 years to buy their second. The high new cost and vans not rusting out(like the 80's vans) are limiting newer used smb's.

I suggest
- call SMB Huntington and tell them what you want.
- Search google, crazedlist.org and ebay...I found mine on Crazedlist
- wait until spring...a lot of people winterized their SMB already and will likely camp in spring before selling
- Maybe a 10+ year old SMB as well as Dodge/GM

One other suggestion...there are a lot more SMB available in CA. Find a few that you want to look at, fly there and drive back as a vacation. If you buy in Fresno, there is plenty to see nearby. If you can't find a SMB, maybe consider a Roadtrek or VW camper...if that still doesn't work, rent a van and go on vacation anyway. Win-win

We found an SMB that we wanted off craigslist in Austin, then I flew to Texas to buy it and drove it home. Fun roadtrip back, no screaming kid or screaming wife to bug me, just 1300 miles of asphalt, a Sirius radio receiver, and my new SMB.
