Here is the answer to a question I just asked Sportsmobile regarding plans to offer a Metris version of their campervans.

Q. Are there any plans to add some lower-height vehicles, such as the beautiful Mercedes Metris, as Sportsmobile options? I would choose a Sportsmobile immediately if I could fit one inside a standard seven-foot high US garage. Unfortunately, all of the current options are just too tall.

A. Thank you for your inquiry with Sportsmobile. Yes, we are currently in the design and development phases with the Metris chassis. We are hoping to debut this new Sportsmobile conversion in the first quarter of 2017, so please stay in touch with us on this new chassis.

I just recently had a Metris van as a rental (they were out of compact cars). Functional, I guess, for what it is, but the ride did not impress me. Mileage was good however, and seemed to have plenty of power in it's passenger configuration.

BTW, the side mirrors SUCK, and even the rear mirror has limited use due to the headrests on the rows of passenger seats.

A stock full size GM van may fit. My Quigley IFS 4x4 Chevy van with at least 2 inch lift and oversized tires is pretty close to fitting.......around 1-2 inches is all that's needed. I think if you went back to stock tires it would fit. I've got it for sale on here. No poptop.

Nada list specs as 218.8 inches long and 79.6 inches high. That's within standard garage specs.
